Slim Whitman was born on 20th January 1923 and has now retired form touring performances.. His final UK tour commences in October 2002.
He lives in Jacksonville, Florida.
My wife and I went to see Slim and his son Byron performing at the Royal Centre, Nottingham on 10th Oct.2002
He has obviously now lost much of his singing ability but considering his age he was able to put on a good show.
We went to the stage door after the show had finished and were invited inside to meet him and obtain autographs.
