A CRUISE TO ALASKA
This holiday was not of the Do-it-Yourself type. It was purchased as a package from a travel agent.
The KLM flight took us from Manchester via Amsterdam to San Francisco where we spent two nights in the Ramada Hotel. We then boarded Celebrity Cruise's MERCURY ship and visited Victoria (Canada), KETCHIKAN, JUNEAU, SITKA, and finally VANCOUVER.
One of the main reasons why we take so many vacations in the USA is because we enjoy meeting the American people. They are so friendly and interesting to speak to; this holiday was no exception when we met:-
SAL and EDIE (back row)
CURT and CATHY (front row)
I GUESS WE ARE NOW ALL STUCK IN THIS GOLDFISH BOWL TOGETHER!
The cruise ship, the service and the food were all first class but we think the cruise itinerary could have been better. Anyone taking an Alaskan Cruise should ensure that the Itinerary includes The Hubbard Glacier, for it is only in this area that you will see iceberg scenery. Also you should check that when you pass through the Inside Passage (this is not a sexual reference) your cruise ship enters this area during daylight hours.
