VISIT NOTRE DAM AT TIME OF THE EUCHARIST

During our four day stay in Paris in April 2008 we paid a visit to -

Notre Dam is French for  OUR LADY. Work began on building it in 1163 but it was not completed until 1345. To enter the Cathedral you approach the building from here -

It was Sunday morning and by sheer good fortune we entered the cathedral at the time of the Eucharist - " The Christian sacrament in which Christ's last supper is commemorated by the consecration of bread and wine".

The clergy were dressed in full regalia  and there was much chanting and incense -

The stain-glass windows were not to be missed - The one on the left is called the Rose Window.
