He was my grandfather who in 1911 lived at Harland Road  and worked as a cabinet case fitter.

HILDA HURT Born 1893

In 1911 she lived at 11 Harland Road and worked as a silver burnisher.

CLIFFORD HURT Born 1895.

In 1911 he lived at 11 Harland Road and worked as an Errand Boy.

Wallace Hurt was born on 13th August 1837 and died in            Elizabeth Cockayne was born in 1834 and married

1899, aged 62. On his Birth Certificate his surname is                Wallace Hurt on  the 27th July 1857.

 spelt "WALLIS".                  

At the 1841 Census he was aged 3 and lived on:

Hoyle Street, Sheffield.

At the 1851 Census he was aged 14, was working as

a File Cutter and lived at 183 Tudor Square, Sheffield.

At the 1861 Census he was aged 23 and lived at:

135 Faxton Street Court 3, Sheffield.

At the 1871 Census he was aged 32 and lived at:

89 Hodgson Street, Sheffield.

At the 1881 Census he was aged 43 and lived at:

9, Midland Road, Heeley, Sheffield.

He was not found on the 1901 Census so presumed dead.

He married Hannah Eliza Ward on 6th March 1815.                             At the 1851 Census she was aged 56 and living at

They had a child Anna Eliza Hurt who married and went to

live in Utah, USA where she joined the Latter Day Saints

(Mormons).

At the 1841 Census he was aged 45 and worked as a                        183, Tudor Square, Sheffield. She was a widow at this

File Cutter.                                                                                            so her husband must have died between ages 45-55.

They had 3 sons: Charles, Samuel and Wallace and a

daughter, Harriet.

Robert Hurt was born in 1755 and baptised on 8th May 1757              Sarah Green was born in 1759 and married Robert Hurt
