IAN JACKSON

Ian was born on 21st February 1948

Ian is 17 months younger than his sister, Hazel. In the first photo he is aged 5. In the second he is on holiday with his family.

When he left school he became a Plumber and worked overseas in Iraq. In 1980, whilst he was working there, the Gulf War broke out. He was working in a factory when an American fighter plane fired on the building. He and his workmates knew it was time to get out and they fled the country- a long trek through the desert to Aman in Turkey.

In 1972 he married Lynda Furness and lived originally in Hasland, Chesterfield. They then purchased two very old cottages in Greenhill near the Swan Pub.

The cottages were in such poor repair they had to be virtually demolished before being rebuilt. I remember his mother saying he had paid all that money for a pile of bricks.

This was the result after rebuilding.

His first marriage produced two children: Rebecca and Jonathon.

Rebecca was born on the 12th July 1973 and Jonathon on 3rd July 1977.

Rebecca Married Nathan on 15th June 1996. They had two children:

Harriott Born 27th July 1996 and Zachery Born 3rd August 1998.

On 4th May 2005 Jacqueline and I went to see Rebecca at her home, 263 Baslow Road Sheffield Telephone 0114 235 6632. Rebecca had two jobs, one working in NEXT at Meadowhall and another, part time at a school.

In 1990 Ian moved to Liverpool where he now lives with his partner, Debbie at 61 Whitland Road Liverpool Telephone 0151 280 2581.

They have two children, Sophie and Madeline.
