HAROLD McLEAN

Born 19th October 1910.     Died 3rd March 2003 aged 92

Harold was born in DUNDALK, Southern Ireland.

His father was in the British army and when Southern Ireland split from the British Isles the family moved to England. Originally, they lived in Baron Street, near Sheffield United football ground. Harold was posted to Hillsborough Barracks and served almost 6 years abroad as a member of the famous Desert Rats during the Second World War.

In his schooldays he was a very good footballer and won a national award with the school team.

After his marriage to ELSIE they spent most of their lives at 58 Clough Road before moving to 76 Glen View Road, Greenhill:
